Set sail and master the One Piece Card Game with this complete guide

Win Conditions

Two ways to claim victory

⚔️

Reduce Life to Zero

Attack your opponent's Leader and reduce their Life Points to 0. When their Leader takes damage with no Life cards remaining, you win!

📚

Deck Out Opponent

Turn Structure

The five phases of each turn

1

Refresh Phase

Restore all your rested (sideways) DON!! cards and Character cards to active (upright) position.

2

Draw Phase

Draw 1 card from your deck. The first player skips this on their first turn.

3

DON!! Phase

Add 2 DON!! cards from your DON!! deck to your DON!! area (only 1 on your first turn). Maximum 10 DON!! in play.

4

Main Phase

Play Characters, attach DON!! to cards for power boosts, play Events, use your Leader's ability, and attack.

5

End Phase

Resolve any end-of-turn effects. Your turn ends and your opponent begins their turn.

Design Notes

Bird's eye view showing: Leader card (center-left), Character area (5 slots to the right), DON!! deck (far left), DON!! area (below leader), Main deck (right), Trash (right of deck), Life cards (above leader, face-down). Use ocean/pirate ship themed borders.

First Turn Restrictions: The player going first cannot attack, only adds 1 DON!! card, and skips their Draw Phase. This balances the advantage of going first.

Combat System

How battles are resolved

1

Rest Your Attacker

Turn your attacking Character or Leader sideways (rest it). Only active (upright) cards can attack.

2

Declare Your Target

Choose to attack either the opponent's Leader or one of their rested Characters.

3

Blocker Step

The opponent may rest an active Character with Blocker to redirect your attack to that Character instead.

4

Counter Step

The defender can play Counter cards from their hand to add power to their defending card.

5

Damage Step

Compare power values. If attacker's power is equal or greater, they win. Characters are KO'd; Leaders lose a Life card.

Keywords

Important abilities to know

Rush

This Character can attack the turn it is played. Normally, Characters must wait until your next turn to attack.

Blocker

When your opponent attacks, you can rest this Character to make it the target of the attack instead of the original target.

Counter

When your Leader or Character is attacked, you can add this card's Counter value to the defending card's power from your hand.

Double Attack

When this card deals damage to the opponent's Life, deal 2 Life damage instead of 1. Very powerful for finishing games.

Banish

Remove a card from the game entirely. Banished cards cannot be retrieved or interacted with for the rest of the game.

On Play

This effect triggers when the card is played from your hand. It does not trigger when played by other effects.
