It All Started with a Pikachu Card

Like many of you, we relate to the classic Indian journey: watching Pokemon on CN India → Hungama → then hunting down episodes on anime websites. Or playing on emulators — VBA → No$GBA → DeSmuME → Citra → Ryujinx — because buying actual consoles was nearly impossible in most parts of India. Racing home to catch Ash's journey through Kanto became a daily ritual. The theme song still gives us goosebumps. And One Piece? We've been following Luffy's dream to become the Pirate King since the early 2000s, through every arc, every Nakama, every tearful goodbye.

That struggle isn't limited to Pokemon; it applies to all official anime merch — whether it's figurines, TCG cards, or even the recent One Piece Legos. We all remember buying those ₹30 packs at the stationery shop, convinced they were real. When the Pokemon TCG started gaining popularity in India around 2019, we were ecstatic. Finally, a way to own a piece of our childhood! We could hold actual Charizard cards, build decks, maybe even play competitively. The same excitement hit when One Piece TCG launched — Luffy, Zoro, and the Straw Hats in beautiful card form.

It hit us then: why is it so hard to find genuine sellers here? After some digging, we realized this issue isn't unique to India; it plagues many Asian countries. To get authentic cards, you either have to pay hefty shipping and customs fees for imports or rely on Indian resellers who are almost always out of stock. Finding trustworthy sellers is a real challenge — and even when you look abroad, marketplaces in the US and elsewhere are flooded with scammers. Getting someone reliable to actually send products to India is another hurdle. The odds feel stacked against collectors who just want the real thing.

The Turning Point

Frustrated but not defeated, we started researching. We learned about official distributors, authentication methods, print quality differences, and the entire supply chain of TCG products. We connected with collectors in Japan, the US, and Singapore. We understood why fakes were so prevalent in India — there was no official distribution, and the demand was being met by counterfeiters.

In late 2025, we made our first legitimate bulk order through proper channels. Real, authentic, sealed Pokemon and One Piece TCG products. When we held those cards, we could immediately feel the difference. The card stock was premium, the colors were vibrant, and every holo sparkled exactly as it should.

We're Collectors First, Sellers Second

We still open packs ourselves. We still get excited when a new set drops. We still debate whether Charizard or Pikachu deserves more love, and whether Gear 5 Luffy is the greatest anime moment ever. (It is.)
