Pokémon TCG Live Deck Editor Guide: What Changed in Version 1.40.0

Pokémon TCG Live version 1.40.0 completed its July 14, 2026 maintenance, and the updated client is live. The Deck Editor changes focus on faster card discovery, clearer ownership information, easier imports, and better deck checks.

The update also adds ways to inspect a deck more comfortably and review its performance. These changes are useful when you are testing a new list or preparing a deck for online play.

The updated card search includes Regulation Mark and Rarity filters. Use the Regulation Mark filter when you want to narrow a card search by the format information shown on the card, then use Rarity to reduce the results further.

Card highlighting during inspection also makes it easier to notice the card you are reviewing. Improved deck-format selection helps you choose the relevant format while working on a list.

On landscape devices, the Deck Editor can show a full-screen deck view. This gives you more room to review the list while moving between the card collection and the deck panel.

The editor also shows each deck’s win and loss totals and calculates its win rate. Use these figures as a quick record of how the deck has performed while you test changes.

Deck imports can use a direct setting or automatically select owned cards. You can also choose automatic selection of the rarest owned card variants. These options help an imported list match the cards and variants already available in your account.

Choose the direct setting when you want to control the import yourself. Use an owned-card preference when you want the editor to select available cards automatically.

The Deck Editor uses darker visual states for unowned cards and variants. Icons identify some cards that cannot be exchanged, while additional validation information shows when an unowned unexchangeable card is part of a deck.

For missing cards that can be exchanged, the Exchange All button provides a faster way to handle the available exchanges. First review the ownership cues so you know which cards can be obtained through an exchange and which need another solution.

Invalid decks now show a validation section in the deck panel. It explains why the deck is invalid and what changes are needed, giving you a clearer place to start troubleshooting the list.

Read the validation details before removing cards at random. Make the requested changes, then check the panel again to confirm that the deck has been corrected.
